The Chiefs capped off their amazing start in Kansas City with a second trip to the AFL-NFL title game after the '69 season.
The squad led by quarterback Len Dawson, Otis Taylor, and Buck Buchanon went 11 and three in the regular season before knocking off the Jets and Raiders on the way to a showdown with the Vikings in Super Bowl IV.
In that game the Chiefs defense shined, leading the team to their first and only Super
Bowl win- 23 to 7.
During the '69 season WDAF aired a pregame show before each Chiefs contest. This is some of the old film from one of those shows featuring an interview with Otis Taylor.
It's hard to believe, but when WDAF signed on in 1949, sports on television was in it's infancy.
Of course that's partly because television itself was young.
Even so, our first 20 years Working 4 You still brought all of us plenty of memorable moments.
